Well, just six days into Elise ownership and she's taken a bit of damage.

The smiley on the post is because I was extraordinarily lucky!!!

A partridge (that wasn't so lucky) ran out in front of the car and took off at just the right time to fit exactly through the Elise's front intake. Numberplate, driving lights and clam are all completely undamaged and unmarked! Miraculous (though I doubt that the Partridge thought that...). The grill shattered into many pieces. I just saw a brown blur and heard a surprisingly loud bang.

Yes, that is a leg sticking out if you look closely.

The unceromonious bit was kneeling on the road, rolling my sleeve up James Herriot style and fishing the Partridge out from its final resting place. New grill ordered straight away - should be with me tomorrow!

The worst bit (for me, not the bird) was sitting in the car after I had stopped thinking "clam?" "numberplate?" "headlights?" £££...

You don't want to 'grill' partridge, far better to slow roast.

That is the best idea for a while. It would be some good food. Partridge, rabbit (hare) and venison. We just need someone to hit a brewery lorry (Please dont!)

If it is "eat what you bring" then Philygumbo will be very hungry!

Thankfully it wasn't Alan Partridge. I'd be looking at a new clam for sure if I hit him at 60mph!

I can just picture a muffled "ahaa!" coming from inside the front of my car when I came to a halt!
