I rode all those roads years ago on my many bike trips to France and Spain. Top roads, but scary at times. Carried on through into Spain a few times, down back roads, got lost for miles, nearly run out of fuel, got a slow puncture in the front tyre once on them crazy switchbacks. Great fun, the good old days.

Back in the eighties there was very little traffic on French roads. I rode from the Midlands to the South of France in less than 18 hours on several occasions, 960 miles, mainly on the RN roads, and including ferry time. I bet it's not like that any more?
