Hello,

As a request from my other half, she was wondering which lens would be best for shots which includes close ups of animals, plants, but still at the same time, be able to take good shots of aircraft etc, does such a lens exist? She says in the price range of £300-400, hopefully i'm not paying

Thanks in advance

Andy

Sounds like for part (1) you want a macro lens.

Aircraft? in flight or on the ground?

Depends how close-up you want, but to get decent shots at airchows etc IMHO you need 300mm, and that's longer than any macro lens I know of. By 'macro' I mean filling the frame with a postage stamp.

However, there is a cunning way. You could get the Nikkor 70-300mm ED and a set of close-up lenses for it. I'd guess about £300 all in, and £100 to me for consultancy

With regard to the aircraft question, probably both on the ground and in-flight, as i'm hoping to drag her along to the RIAT this year.
