This depends on how you drive!
If you a lot of high speed driving and hard braking, then the standard brakes take a hammering. The cross-drilled holes in the front disks start to get hairline cracks and will need replacing.
If you do many track days, then tyres don't last very long.
If you don’t do this sort of driving, the only things to worry about are that low front lip with speed bump etc. and of course the inevitable stone chips.
Awesome car! Worth these few costs.

Thanks for the response .. I was beginning to think it was a VERY stupid question! So if it were the every day commute to work car with the odd blat on the motorway , the car sounds pretty indestructible (in so far as any car might be..) . I understand that it doesn't share the same so called rms syndrome as it's contemporaries , but surely it has some recurring nags?
Fingers crossed no problems at all with my 996TT, had it nearly 2 years now.
It had new tyres when I bought it (July 04) & I have just replaced the rears (£330) & the fronts have a fair bit of life in them yet. Not had to replace pads/discs either - all are fine.

Do you mean additional costs verus a Carrera? If so the cost of parts, servicing, insurance and fuel are higher but not hugley so. I'm guessing that a TT would cost approx an extra £1000 a year to run over a Carrera but worth every penny! As you say, the TT doesn't have the RMS issue so added peace of mind there.
my TT had an engine rebuild at 10k miles due to porous engine block. It was repaired FOC under original warranty terms - it was £15K worth of work !!
Apart from that life with my TT has been a breeze - but just make sure you take out OPC warranty at £725/year.

That ultra low front wing has me slightly worried tho, I've got a set of pretty vicious speed bumps to negotiate every time I take the car out .. It's no problem for the c2 , but I reckon I'd have to put my brown cords on leaving the house if I was stepping into a tt!!
As an aside , is the c4s endowed with the same front end or does it sit a little higher off the (as the Americans like to say) asphalt??

I run a VW golf as well as the tt and the golfs front lip catches more than the tt's.
Dont think you will have many issues with the front lip, even if it does catch its pretty flexible and rarely breaks.
Get an 04 Model year (late 53 plate) and you only have to service it every TWO years. The later ones have long life services.

Shame on you!
I get 4,000 out of a set of rears on my 996 C2. If you get any more than 6,000 out of a set of rears on any 911, it is my opinion that said car should be confiscated and given a new happier home (i.e me!)
