Hi, I need a website building that's mainly database driven so that one can search for a car model, type etc (a bit like www.osram.com/am_application/index.php) and then go on to purchase etc...

Any takers? Am I in the right forum?

Depends what you want / need
- hosting - do you have a host, or do you need a new one?
- design - do you have existing site and designs?
- number of products you intend to sell?

the questions go on for quite a while, but some info about amount of traffic, how you'd like to keep the catalogue up to date etc, does it need to link to back-end systems, would all be useful... it might be cheaper to buy the actinic product rather than build from scratch, but it depends on your requirements.

I want to create a site similar to www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk with search function etc.

Only about 100 products but they all need to be cross referenced.

How much is it going to cost? I've spoken to somebody about the actual 'data' or at least the bulk of it so I hope that part may be partially taken care of.

We built www.xenondirect.com this runs off a shop system with some customisation including a bulb application guide powered by a database.

Also www.pcpquotecars.co.uk - fully bespoke database driven site with Make > Model > Spec > Order linear tree style navigation with easy to use admin back-end system and content management.

See the company site at www.2dmedia.co.uk

Sam
