I'm upgrading the front wheels on my chim to 16" wheels, using a spare set of rears that I have in the garage. The problem is what size of tyre should I fit? I don't have PAS and a 245 sounds a bit wide! I don't mind building up a bit of muscle, but I don't want to look like a Gorilla!

Anyone done the same who can help?

Mine are 16" all round. 225/45/16 front 245/45/16 rear. This retains the original overall dia front and rear

i am thinking of doing the same on 1998 5L, does anyone know what the latest cars to come out the factory had fitted and did they have different front suspension. being tight i was hoping i could use the same tyres all round to even the wear out a bit.

Cheers Bob, Can I ask if your running PAS with that setup?

Yes mine has PAS. In my opinion 245 front would give problems with steering lock. I changed fron 205 15" to 225 16" and I had to fit spacers in the steering rack to reduce travel otherwise the tyres would snag at full lock. With 245 that issue would be worse.

One issue though. Mine has different offset front and back. If I fitted my rear wheels to the front hubs the wheels would sit too far out of the car.
