Please recommend a speed camera detector for my 997(911) C4S
Discussion
I'm picking up my new 911 (997) Carrera 4S tomorrow, and think it might be a good idea to invest in a speed camera detector.
I've heard good things about the New Road Angel, but would be interested in feedback on this and other brands.
I'm really after something discrete, which does both GPS and laser, and which won't require lots of wiring all over the place.
Cheers

I have the micro road pilot. It is extremely discreet(about size of a 50p), GPS warnings work well, it is also quite easy to customise the settings. If the detector is too obvious, the scumbags will break your window for it.
One critiscism is that it is quite mixed on adding / deletion of camera sites, not sure if that is a common issue with other databases?
There is a new model out which looks even better. £200 i believe.

Micro road pilot is what we usually fit - much smaller than anything else so can be discreetly tucked away.
One of these and front rear jammers, I mean garage door openers, is the killer combo!
Chris, they're 'reverse parking sensors' these days
Catch up soon.

Whoopee I have a killer combo !
As for the database I too am a bit worried about it. I crossed a junction recently where a Truvello was sat and no murmur. It also has the wrong speed limits in at least two specs areas that I know of in Nottingham
I've had a Road Angel (1st gen) and although good (novelty at the time) the dB was extremely poorly maintained, despite weekly downloads, it was still warning me of the Essex M25 speed camera months after they'd been removed. (There were countless other instances too, so I'd be dubious about buying a Mk2)
So I sold it to my Brother!
Now got Origin b2. Havent got around to installing it into the 996 yet, but used it for 8mnths in my old Scoob, and it really is in a different league. Not as small as the Micro Pilot, but smaller than RA-Mk2...about the size of a pager....soooo damn functional and a decent size to see what's-what whilst driving.
The feature that sold it to me was the mounting cradle, no wires to plug/unplug every time you hop into the car, just drop it into the docking connector (like an OE mobile phone handsfree kit arrangement)
...Plus you can wire-in the [cough]parking sensors[/cough] that just happen to have dual functionality
