SEAC air intake

Just been rummageing through me Wedge stuff looking for any history of me old 350 for Silverbackmike and found my copy of Supercars Vol 52 - you know, the one that features the 450 SEAC.
Theres an engine shot of it with an ally box enclosing the plenum chamber with what looks like a flexi air inlet hose ducted to the nearside wheel arch!! Now then, was this done at the factory? does it work?
Any ideas?

You sure that flexi doesn't somehow connect to the louvres at the front left of the bonnet? That would make a fair amount of sense...

That picture has been cut. Theres a definate line through the air vents of the dash where they change (are they supposed to change?) goes up past the N/S wheel arch.
The wiper isn't quite in line.

Thats twice you've got me looking under the bonnet Ian!!
There's no room to duct it there. Unless the wheel arch is chain sawed!

It hasn't been cut as such. It is part of a much larger picture from a 2 page spread. It has been stitched together the lower part of which lines up OK

I'd agree - quad downdraught..

The top of the box is not pressure sealed - it only seems to have 4 screws holding it down.

Also the tube to the inner wing looks too small to be a feed - the large silver pipe to the front looks more lively to be the air feed

Edited to addd - just noticed the 'low pressure' fuel feed filter set-up next to the battery..
