locked threads and post counts

just a suggestion that can be shouted down - but how about when a thread gets locked everyone who posted to the thread loses their post count? eg some of these idiot threads so that members don't get high post counts for posting crap.

also, how about a post count that takes into account how much you write? i mean, i generally don't use the forum to chat (well not as much as most people do anyway), but I have a generally low post count in comparison to others. i mean, a post that only contains



is worth a lot less than some of the long debating posts I and other make. (also text within quote marks shouldn't be added to the length test of the post).

Actually, I have to say I've never noticed that locked threads get removed form psot counts. Is this the same for deleted posts etc? I'm sure it didn't used to be like this!

Post counts don't currently get reduced in any way.

I can see your point but the post count isn't a badge of honour necessarily.

I'm constantly reviewing what is appropriate to discourage the more peurile threads.
