it seems that the mansell boys were testing at silverstone on wednesday, and ..... struggled somewhat, greg was mid table on times and leo was second to last.

looks like they have a lot of learning to do but that won't stop the embittered racing dad's crowing about them being slow

personally i think they show potential, and the jury should be out until the end of the season at least...

Nigel doesn't strike me as that sort of individual - he ran them in karts without making a fuss...

It i interesting tha tha the great man did not allow to sprogs new karts till late and toy single seater untill 20 on - he does not want then to even ben in F1 an the won't be - far to limited racing experience at a late age compared to kids that have been racing since knee high to a grass hopper.

He did his best to discourage them from following in his footsteps IIRC.

i think your wrong about them not making F1, true they don't have the advantages of others, but then neither did Damon Hill. but they do have nigel, and loads of money, which is the biggest determinant to success.

Its too early to say at the mo, but my guess is that the younger mansell will probably make it, the older one will disappear from the scene within a couple of years..

Yes, Hill made it onto the scene pretty late didn't he - with little if any karting experience. I watched him in F3 and F3000 and certainly wouldn't have marked him out for success in later years

I think Damon Hill is/was a very good driver, but he was also a very good example of suceeding at something through massive concentration, will to succeed and application. I'm saying that I don't think he was a "natural".

Yes, I agree with you - but had he not had the right car, he'd not have achieved what he did - just look at Alesi - tons of talent but never had the car. Now Fischella is another story - tons of talent and had te right car last season but....

Mansell's old home on the Isle of Man is up for sale again.

Shoul have added, I'm not even sure if they are still the current owners, maybe selling up to move to the mainland to concentrate on running his boys maybe?

Doubt they would want to do that as they would get hammered by the tax man.

Hill beat Schuey (sp) when he(Hill) was (relatively) old and Schuey was young. In retrospect, THAT WAS an achievement par excellence!!
