cv8 alloys corroded?
Discussion
Can anyone out there tell me if they are having problems getting the inside of there alloys clean? I know this sound trivial but its really stating to get up my nose.
Problem is that i maticulousley clean the wheels every week and i soon noticed that there seemed to be a band about 3cm wide on the very inside of the wheel that was becoming what looks like "corrosion". After mentioning this to my no so local monaro dealer they told me that it was just brake dust and that i should basically clean them better.I insisted that i do clean these well and could they explain why there is a obvious point a which the dicolouration starts(on each wheel). they could not so to cut a long story short i've badgered and pestered all the way to the uk directors office and they tell me i have no reason for complaint because no other cv8 owners have reported any problems. Please let me know if any of you have experianced these marks on your alloys as i feel that i'm being shafted over this.

Hi
It is a subject that has come up a number of times. The wheels are not fully coated/painted. All cars are the same, a number of people have had their cars inspected by both dealers and vauxhall and told the same. There should be no corrosion issues, but aesthetically its not ideal!!
If you do feel there is a corrosion issue PM me and i will take the case up with Vauxhall and the field remedy team. (sounds like a farmers doctor!!!)

Glad its not just mine !
My o4 cv8 wheels are complete pants. Inside is not properly finished and on the outer faces, seem to get all sorts of strange stains that are hard to shift, and now the (very thin) clearcoat seems to be peeling off. Think I'll get a set of decent 19" aftermarket wheels. My wife wants the old ones to make into flower pots. Probably the best thing for them. Anyone got any suggestions for a decent replacement? Same problem on my 05 cv8. The inner half of the wheels are now black, despite cleaning with a brush on a weekly basis. Where the inner half of the wheels are not lacquered the brake dust just sticks like glue. Still looks a mess but probably prevents corrosion due to the barrier formed.
