OK, so I am picking up a 1993/4 (November 1993) 4 litre car next week.
Can any one recommend a trickle charger or other method best to keep the battery from draining. Is there an actual wiring loom fix out there that stops the batter from discharging when the car is NOT in use?
It has full TVRSH and all the right bits have been changed. And yes I know what a pig it is to keep the car charged so that the battery lasts longer than a week! I also know where the battery is! The guy I bought it own a garage and we both laughed at how good the car was but why did they locate the battery under the PFW (each letter stands for a word describing where it is incase we are not supposed to say on this forum for non TVR owners)
Also the Targa roof and hood was in great condition but took some mgetting used to get it lined up so that it would sit right for the windows to fit flush with the rubber seals. is there a secret to aligning this in uncer 30 seconds?
I have driven a 1996 and loved it because it had power steering and had the new gear box etc.
The 1993 I am about to pick up has no PAS and the rover 5 speed gear box. It drive different but ofcourse there is more feedback.
I would like to know if it is worth paying 3K more for a 1996 or 1997 car versus a 1993 car. interms of dynamics etc. what are all your thoughts?
Does anyone out there own a 1993/1994 car?

Firstly, congratulations on your choice of motor!
Accumate seem to be the conditioner of choice. Mine was actually mounted in the boot by the dealer but you can get a cigar lighter adaptor to save you scrabbling around the PFW. As for stopping the battery going flat people have mentione a systtem which cuts power when the voltage drops to a certain level and the re-connects when you turn on the ignition. However the problem with this is that when it cuts the power you loose your alarm (and doors!).

I had an early '94 400 which was great, just different to my current '98 450. Overall I do prefer the 450, different gearing, different sound (and more power!) - irritating little things like the indicator repeater - just wasn't in my field of view on the early model. The later model holds its charge much longer than the earlier one, which I put down to the different alarm system drain.
Gets very hot under the bonnet which, I believe, is why the battery is where it is.
