To allow max air intake, think it is best to go for sticker number plate on bonnet or lower the number plate as far as possible but keep it mounted on the front?

Pics if possible.

I'm no expert but mine is just mounted in the bog standard place and I've had no problems with over heating . As for mounting a sticky on the bonnet only my opinion of course

Same here - Mines a full size normal plate mounted in the usual place - no problems with overheating. IMHO if you get overheating then you have a problem that needs looking into , shifting the plate isnt going to do it...

With mine mounted in the standard location I would say I actually have too much airflow. If anything I have problems getting the cooling water to stay hot enough.

Hi

I've put a 3/4 size plate on the front of mine from fancyplates.com.

I did notice a slight drop in running temp, then I put mesh covering the bonnet vents and the temp went back to normal (well for a RV8!)

If I remember tomorrow I'll take a pic.

normal plate/position for me and no lack of airflow, just remove it if you go for a track day.

I think it is illegal. There is dispensation for certain cars, E-Type for example.

Check out my profile - the previous owner bought a number plate holder for a Jeep Cherokee or something similar and cut the back to match the profile of the front bottom grille surround, which he screwed into. No probs with temp, flapping about, or speed bumps etc!
