Benny Hill subject line, but hey ho...

Drunken Xmas Day conversation; Bruvver In Law says his mate says 1 flash from Gatso is a warning... me says nope, always flash 2wice.

However investigating this on the forums does throw up some mention of this.. can anyone clarify this for me (humble pie being baked just now).

OT - Glad to see Madcop/Binned back.

Also OT - Gratuitous gloating begins; I actually get paid for driving between Glasgow/Lochgilphead/Oban/Buckie (not all routes at the one time) some of the finest driving roads in Scotland and yes, business mileage too Okay, currently it is in a Vectra SRi, but hell lifes not perfect. Then again it's a whole heap better here than my mates life is in Northampton . It must be good as I regularly see the Motor Polis doing their driving training out there (watch out for a new white S Type in the Strathclyde area!). However that faffwit in the white mondeo doing 20 round the corners out towards the Stirling Straits then belting it on the straights up to 60 should never pass the course, straight line drivers may they rot in hell ,

Newbie post so sorry for the length (and overuse of smileys)

Single flash only means that theres only a flash and radar unit in the box.
It must flash twice to take photos that can be used in court.
Note that gatsos can also be programmed to double flash without a camera in it.

Glasgow - Lochgilphead - Oban is a great route you lucky bassa. Not so great in a minibus full of kids mind you, especially when I'm driving.

Never been to Buckie though.

Had the pleasure of driving that road last year in my M5. But I never went anywhere near 250 km/h on the big straight bit on the rest and be thankful, honest!

Always wanted the job of driving the bus from the ferry landing to Tobermory on the Island of Mull.
Travelled that route a few years ago and after the eagle took off in front of the bus I was hooked. th edriver wasn't as keen to give up his job unfortunately.
Back to the Western Bypass I suppose

Well as I recall. In the early gatso's one flash meant there was no camera in the unit. Two flashes meant there was a camera. They have since modified most of them so that they will flash twice whether there is a camera or not.
