If you're doing it regularly, then you probably want to get some proper software.

If it's just occasionally, just drop (cut and paste) all of the addresses into a text editor so that you can get the formatting right, then copy and paste them into a mail client.

It all depends on where the addresses you currently have are. They could be in a database, they might be in the address list in outlook, they might (god forbid) be on paper.

If they're on paper, then your best bet is to use a scanner, and a decent OCR.

As piglet says, an appreciation of the BCC field is probably helpful.

I can't help but PLEASE make sure when you send the mail that you don't disclose 129 other peoples email addresses to the others. People do this to me now and again and it drives me nuts (plus breaches the Data Protection Act!)

The BCC field is your friend.

Regular email will have no problem sending the same thing to 130 people.

No but wannado might, I'd break it up into chunks of 30 at a time.

Also if possible try to mix the domains in each batch. Hotmail for instance will detect if too many connections are opened too quickly from one server and ditch the lot as spam.

Already been some good tips, heres one more.

If you would like to send out newsletters/branded emails then we have a web based email newsletter application built in-house for this very purpose, and extremely easy to use.

We can set you up with a branded email template, then you simply login and type your new email into it. You can use the editor to do all you’re formatting such as Bold, Italic, links, colours etc. The system lets you draft new emails, review previous ones, manage your list, import email addresses/names, and includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails that automatically removes their subscription.

PM me for details, or enquire at www.2dmedia.co.uk

Sam
