Crap Wipers, Is There a Solution ??

I know that this has been discussed a number of times in the past, but has anyone found a way of improving the windscreen wipers on the Cerb ??

I know that RainX is a work round but is there nothing that can be done with the actual wiper arms/springs ?? TVR seem to have fixed it on later models (mate doesn't have a problem with his Tuscan), anything we can nick off one of these ??

Prompted by a particularily worrying drive home in the rain last night - no street lights, cars coming the other way, wipers already on fast, see feck all at well below national speed limit.

I'll 2nd the rain-x solution ! It's not a work arround - just means you NEVER have to use your wipers when it's raining ! I can't praise the stuff enough ! A drive home from Elvington last March was seeing most traffic on the M25 crawling along due to very heavy rain/spray - but the Cerb (complete with recently rain-xed windscreen) was more than happy to sit at normal morotway cruising speeds with perect vision !

Bosch do wipers with spoilers on to help keep them pushing on the screen, also their wiper blades seem of higher quality than TVR’s standard wipers. I’ve just fitted one to the driver’s side on my Tuscan and it is definitely an improvement. I’m going to try RainX as well though because I’ve heard so many good reports about it.

Are you sure your wipers are working correctly? I find mine to be more than adequate and much better than a few german cars I have driven.

Perhaps some new blades?

I'll try some new wipers first, are the Bosch ones generally available from motor factors ??

I know Rain X is good stuff but the car is lucky to get a wash once a month, I doubt I'd keep the windscreen cleaned and treated enough (probably indicates I'm a lazy git )

I found that TVR wipers are inherently cr*p. Want good wipers? Buy a new car

Halfords sell it. You can also get RainX screen wash which supposedly enhances the performance of the RainX applied to your screen.

Edited to add: It's a lovely pink colour, the screen wash.

Avoid car washes, they put polish on outside of screen and contaminate wipers causing smears.
Remember to clean inside of screen - obvious I know, but easily forgotten.

Or try Rain Wizard. Also from Halfords. Very easy to apply, works wonders, I have it on both cars, and in heavy rain on M40 on New Years Day, didn't even need the wipers on!
