Cheap Lexmark or Epson?
Discussion
Hmmm... Epson nozzles do tend to clog and they don't produce printers with replacable heads... however they are superb bits of kit, very high quality (even the cheaper ones) and all inkjets can print to the edge. The software that comes with them is very handy for printing, too. Lexmark have just withdrawn from the UK due to poor sales - stuff still available but no UK back-up...
Lexmark -- cheap/good printers - very expensive cartridges-aint seen a non oem replacement.
Found epson 4x serious very good - and 6x also - used 4x for a newsletter with no probs, even with non oem cartridges .all with ink sensor.
Older canon with replaceable head needs to keep head wet -without ink monitoring s/w found it best to keep ink for refilling.
Currently using a epson 66 - will print up to photo quality .Non oem ink available and only averages at £15 for black+3 colours.
Could recommend a non oem source ,but won't as mods might object to advertising -

I wouldn't have HP again as I used to have one and keep having problem with it. The cartridge is expensive too.
The cartridges are expensive because they come with the nozzles built in, so if the nozzles do clog up it's easy to replace them. Until then you can refill the cartridges with one of those kits for shooting up ink.
