Playstation problem

My playstation wont let me save Gran turismo 2 games i've never tried to run GT2 on it but the game runs fine but i can't save which sucks greatly. any idea's?

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but, do you have a PS1 memory card in slot 1. If i remember correctly, you need the PS1 memory card in slot 1 else it dont work.

Thats what i thought i'm using a PS2 card aint got a PS1 one wasn't sure though thats a pisser aint it lol

You do need a PS1 memory card, think its something to do with the magicgate thingamy bob

PS2 cards are not compatible with PS1 games.
