Problems saving Resident Evil 4 on PS2
Discussion
Hey guuys and gals,
After playing RE4 for a couple of hours and saving several times along the way I retired for the night. When coming back to it a couple of days later it would not read the save game either from the game or in browser mode - tells me the data is corrupted.
Thought, oh Bugger!!, and started all over again. Whadda ya know, played for a few minutes, saved the game and tried to load said saved game.... No Go... Data Corrupted!
Any ideas anyone? I will try another memory card tonight but thought i'd throw it out there. Also, the game is a "backup".

Firstly, a friend of mine works at Capcom and wouldn't like you 'backing-up' RE4
Anyway, the fact that you're running a copied game won't affect your save file. Do the other save games on your memory card work? Is it an official PS2 memory card or a cheap one? It might be possible to fix it by formating the memory card or deleting all the RE4 data off there before trying to re-save the game.
Aside from that, I can't think of anything else that may be causing this problem.

You can tell your friend that I have an original copy of the game
But thanks for the warning.
It is a 64MB card that has about 30 other saved games on it from other games that work fine. I will however try an original 8MB Sony PS2 card tonight and see how it goes. I have deleted all the corrupted RE4 save game files and that didnt make any difference. All my other backed up games have never had any issues with running or saving games to memory card.
