What car would you buy...

The only options i can see are........ 911 GT3/Turbo in the 40/50k region
or buy a new shape M3 when they have come out and gone down in price and then buy and build an Ultima GTR to compliment
at the moment i cant afford to do any of that, but will be able to in a couple of years time.
If i had to sell the Cerb right now, i would either get a Tuscan or a T350.
if i couldnt have a TVR at all, then i dont think i would get anything and just use the cash as an investment for somthing like a house or shove it in the stock market

I'm in the market for a new place to live, and i'd like to get a double garage.
However, to be able to afford a place with a double garage for the Cerb to live in, I would need to sell the Cerb...
I've been thinking as to whether I could replace it with anything and really can't come up with anything that isn't much more expensive, let alone cheaper.

But you'll probably still look on these forums often lustfully at how other owners are getting closer and closer to that lovely figure... you may even end up looking out for your very own car and know the second it comes back up forsale.

Best car i've ever owned, in terms of an all rounder for the performance influenced driver
Utterly reliable, costs almost the same as a civic to run (I spent £250 over 2 years and 25k miles on part failures and about a grand on servicing/tyres), wonderful to drive and be seen in! Very rare and one of the best rear ends you'll see...
However, the interior quality was average at best.
The only reason I sold up was because it was just about to hit 100k miles and would have been extremely difficult to shift once it had clocked over the magic barrier.
In comparison to the Cerb it was slower, a lot more refined and nowhere near noisy enough! The V6 howl is great, but doesn't come close to the drama and "event" of driving a Cerb with the window down.
The Cerb feels more special each time you drive it, driving the NSX everyday it almost became just a car because it was so capable and easy, i've never felt like that in 2 and half years of Cerb ownership.
I've never had a 911, but I imagine the comparison between Cerb and 911 to be similar, just with the NSX you get the engine in the right place
If I could afford it, i'd buy another to go with the Cerb and have the best of both worlds.

Good point, though the rarity of manual gearbox examples makes me wonder what the DB7 is really about.

It is much more of a Grand Tourer than the Cerbera, but it does mean that you can travel thousands of miles across the continent and get out just as fresh as when you started the day.
And when the mood takes you the traction control can be turned off completely ...

I see in your review of the Cerbera 4.5 you say

). - it looks absolutely, stunningly gorgeous - in fact it attracts as much attention as the Cerbera ever did.
- that engine: 12 cylinders, 48 valves & 6 litres at 7000rpm just has to be experienced.
- a grown up solidity to it; I don't want to be seen to be a TVR/Cerbera basher, but I have good confidence that the DB7 will start every day and get me to my destination without worries or hassle.
- I don't need "raw" from my GT car: I have a very fast Caterham without a windscreen for "raw".
- right time, right place: the DB7 became available and the dealer was happy to give me a very good PX on the Cerbera.
My Cerbera was great, but after 3.5 years it was time for a change.
Depends what the new Esprit is like when it turns up but less than convinced I would sell the Cerbie even when it does come. Cerbies are such amazingly good value for money that ideally I will keep it and get the new Esprit as well. If the Esprit is not what I hope it will be I suspect I'll go either for the Noble or possibly think about a Diablo but all depends on business over the next couple of years....
