Apps don't go to taskbar......

Managed to bu$$er up my sons laptop, somehow I've managed to alter the settings so when you minimize say IE or any other app. it does not go to the taskbar but disappers from view altogether.... the prog is still running as when i hit Ctrl/alt/delete the apps appear in the list.

Is the taskbar still there or have you just minimised that out of sight?

yep taskbar is still there..

Guessing here after trying to replicate the problem:

First unlock the task bar - expand up a few lines and check to see if the minimised programs are "underneath" the usual view area. If not you may have inadvertantly moved one of the partitions (Quick start or the language selections) to cover the entirity of the task bar - if so scroll it back.

If this doesn't help right click the start button and select properties hit the task bar option and restore defaults.
