I think a lot of them are integral to the alams these days. I have a Toad fitted to the RS500 and it's excellent. Combines alarm and immobiliser in a single Cat1 approved unit. Any decent auto electrician can fit them, but companies specialising in high-end ICE installs will usually make the neatest job.

Not sure what model mine is - it was fitted to the car before I got it, but it's aftermarket as opposed to the factory fitted one on the Honda. It has quite a few features on it like full closure, remote panic, anti-hijack etc.

Most inusrers will ask for at least a Thatcham CAT 2 or Thatcham CAT 1 alarm. These have to be fitted by an approved shop/dealer. IIRC a base model Thatcham CAT 1 will cost around £400.

Should be able to get a decent Cat 2 immobilisor fitted for about £100.If its for insurance purposes they usually require it to be fitted proffesionally .Had a mobile chap do mine at home but most ICE retailers will do it aswell.Cat 1 is alarm and immobilisor and cat 2 is immobilisor only IIRC

Whatever you do go to someone who knows TVRs, or has done plenty of TVR installs before. Otherwise you risk having your trim butchered, becuase TVRs don't always come apart the way you think they should! When I bought my car the 'cat 1 installed' Sigma alarm was hanging from the passenger footwell. What a joke. The only way to do a proper secure installation was to take the dash out and refit it myself.

So you are aware,from my understanding, to become Thatcham cat. 1 you have to have an alarm fitted as well as an immobiliser.

I had Carl fit a Meta system to my Griff. I agree with BB. he is the best chap for the job and for many reasons he only wants to fit Meta units as they are the best for a TVR as he will explain. Good luck.

My car is probably going to be on TVRCC stand at Ally Pally next weekend if your all going. Alarmed and immobilised of course
