Porsche trackday 18/03 Note to attendees

Ok to help before you arrive have a read of the following to assist you, not comprehensive !!

Please make sure you arrive on time! Signing on will be from 8am with Drivers briefing at 8.45 strict. ALL drivers must attend (no exceptions) and I'm afraid if you arrive whilst the main briefing is in progress you will have to wait for the 2nd briefing at 9.30 ish......... so you will miss tracktime!

Dont forget your drivers licence! MSV staff will ring DVLA but only after all other drivers (the one's who remembered their licence's) are sorted.

Noise is 105db 3/4 revs at 1 metre static, be prepared if you think you may be close to the limit. If you fail the noise test I'm afraid there is nothing we can do to help (bribery doesn't work)

Some garages have been prebooked so please check before you deposit your car in one, they will be marked.

Access to the track is through the assembly area at the far right of the pit garages (tennis court area). Only a very small number of cars are using the pitlane for access to the track, if you are not sure if you are one of these........ You aren't!!

The main briefing will comprehensively cover everything else so please listen instead of chatting to fellow attendee's you haven't seen for a while. Following the main briefing there will be 'ducks and drakes' until approximately 9.45 max 50mph behind an Easytrack lead car. The rest of the day will be open pitlane format but we will use the chequered flag periodically if a queue forms until we get a good flow going.

PLEASE lets make it a great Porsche day to remember for the right reasons, good track manners, stick to overtaking rules, no racing and good humour.

Rain is the default setting for weather forcasts at Oulton

In my experience the long term weather forcasts are a bit hit and miss but the hourly forcasts from the day before seem pretty much spot on.

Hey John I should have ABS for Oulton (assuming the car is ready) so a little less scary. Look forward to catching up with you IYSWIM

Please note, Protyre are now contracted to be on site next Sat (18th/3)

They will be bringing an Artic truck full of tyres and tecnicians, but they are not mind readers, please call and ask if you want anything :-)

Be patient chasps -start looking a couple of days ahead -the BBC Weather site is as good as any.

Just a tip -check the prevailing wind and look at towns upwind of Oulton for a bit of weather prediction.........

Hi Guys

I can hear Oulton Park from where I live and would really enjoy seeing some of the machinery that is turning up this weekend. Is it OK to just turn up and spectate. Who knows, if I bring my crash helmet, one of you nice chaps might even give me a run round the track.

I was considering booking my 930 in, but as I haven't done a trackday before It was suggested that Oulton may not be the easiest place to break my duck. Lots more run off at somewhere like Bedford so I'll go there first..

What do you think?

Hi chaps.

I'm at Oulton on Saturday, reporting for 911&PW. I'll try and make myself known at the driver's briefing - but should I drive like some sort of Rover 414Si driver and miss it, look out for me during the day. Chances are, I'll be wearing a bright orange coat. Any breakdown recoveries considered, etc.
