That would be a little silly imho as it will affect the balance of the car. Especially as they have such wildly differing properties.

mate, surely your suspension set-up will need a lot of adjusting and to no avail?! Hey, have you considered fitting your tonka toy tyres to your M12?!

They are better for our cars that corsas. Lotus exiges and some elises you them as standard. Thay are cut slicks and give great grip in the dry.
Obes ran a set last year and loved them.
I think we 3R's will get away running them on std suspension whereas the corsas would require nitrons or similar.
This is what I have heard anyway as I have not put the on yet. Still got 0.0005mm left on my SO3's.
I am going to keep the front so3 and then get new rears at the end of the year when it gets wet and slippy again.

Either should be fine. Apparently the main point is less progressive breakaway on the 48s and slightly worse on standing water. Bit more absolute grip in the dry though.
I'd get whichever is cheapest, although personally I think the Corsa's might be a tad more entertaining if you don't care about the last 1/10th of a 1/10th. Anyway this is all hearsay, I've not tried 48s myself and even if I did, me cars heavier
I'm sure if Micknell wasn't so busy sticking the new M15 together or whatever, he would advise SO3s for the 3R and Corsas for the M400. Not very imaginative perhaps, but suspension set-ups and endless testing have shown that these are the ideal tyre set-ups for each car. Other choices would be Ok in some areas but overall give you a flawed package.

048s not brilliant on the M400. Drove a mega-power Scooby today on 048s in wet-ish conditions. Scary. It's not so much their lack of ultimate grip in such conditions, but the way in which they show you no mercy when they let go. Forget these and stick with Corsas, if you must go down the R-compound route. They're excellent in the dry and not life-threatening in the wet (as long as you use your common sense). They've also been designed to work well with the 400's damper/spring set up.
However, if you have a 12 with stock dampers/springs and are looking for a good, all-use alternative to the SO-3, try the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso. It may cost a little more (although you'll need to check on this) but it's worth it.

Bridgestone is replacing the Potenza S03 Pole Position with the Potenza RE050A Pole Position.

The RE050A has almost caught up to the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in dry grip (the S03 was a bigger step behind), and has surpassed the PS2 in the wet.

Get the corsas then as Micknall's comment supports the general opinion that they are nicer on the limit. They are lovely when up to temp. Bit scarey when near the ware bars though in the cold. Only issue is hitting the bump stops in high load turns if you haven't got the m400 dampers (can't remember?).
I don't want to know how you are overheating the S03s on the road!

Thats why I want to try something different. They can barely manage 3 laps of Bedford before going like chewing gum and making it like driving on cheese!
Hope fully the 048's will give me 5 laps at a time and more grip too.
Not too happy to run them in the cold and wet though!
