996 cab engine bay access

Probably a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask anyway 
Can you get into the engine bay of the 996 cab a'la Boxster from above? My oil breather tank needs replacing but it's an engine out job in a tip apparently. It's not really worth spending mega bucks to cure a minor irritation and my engineers head says look at the problem from every angle before making any decisions.
Edited to add: I know about the bonnet, I meant through the firewall area. Google appears to think not
