Favourite Seventies Supercar?

Have just bought this book from Oxfam:
"Supercars of the Seventies", written by the staff at MOTOR.
Which is YOUR favourite?? (And remember, this is the 70s, so they don't have to be nice to drive, or have luggage space or any other modern features like ergonomics. Or safety. Its about pure LUST!

And what the hell would you want luggage space for anyway! All you need is space for a toothbrush, an Amex card and a spare pair of under pants incase you get lucky! Oh, and yes I have seen one and yes, your right to want one!

well im hugely biased -- i had that book too, fab read. I went for my all time fave, which is the vantage (except mine is the very end of production in 89 rather than the early one in that book). Always hankered after a Countach and Boxer. Compared to them, most 90's and later stuff seems so... irrelevant...

Loads of rubbish talked about the 246 it was/is not that good a car - looks to die for, costs ditto - reckon I'm still paying for it!! - Europas were head and shoulders above it to drive - most underrated Lotus ever (apart of course from the 501
).

The S2 Europa was the first Lotus I ever lusted over, but the rising purchase prices, even for a rough one meant that the dream never became reality. Once I could afford one I looked seriously into buying a 1972 S2 and to my horror found that at 6'2" I could hardly get in the thing. Disapointment was not the word! However, the discomfort would be overlooked for one of the Banks Service Station Europa 62's, I'll nip off and find the link. Now thats more in the league of supercar!
I remember as a Kid(5 or 6) My dad had to deliever a Lotus Europa to one of the Ports Down South( Too long ago to remember which)for export and i had to sit in between my dad and my mum on the centre console
all the way.Wouldnt get away with doing that Now, and then we caught a train back. I can still remember even though i was very small how cramped it was and wondering what all the dials where for and why did it have a picnic table as a boot.

hmm. wasnt really paying attention in the 70s (as i was too young to appreciate cars)... but i'd go for the 308. Design genius incarnate . I'd buy one if i had the space on my drive, just to look at, altho to appreciate it i'd have to have it across my drive, thus blocking our cars in... which would annoy my wife i think.

I saw a sweet 77 at a meet in Germany that could have been brand new but had 160,000 km on it, had some lovely 10" rear rims fitted too. Was still well quick, after 25 years - not many Italians could boast that without huge pockets. It's not a pure sportscar but is a real supercar.

I too have got "Supercars of the Seventies", published by Marks and Sparks. Two owners from new (first owner was my brother but anyway).
Lamborghini Espada. Loved it even when I didn't need four seats. Having sat in a Series 3 recently, I don't think I'll ever bother to buy one. But great to look at.
