Hello,

Just after some input really. Well, as some of you know I have owned the 05 Monaro for approx 4.5 weeks now and managed to put 734 miles on it. Last Wednesday night I got in the car to go home from work and noticed notice when turning the key to start the engine, Cat 1 immobilser and factory one seemed ok and all the lights did the correct stuff. Anyway, AA contractor they sent out was no use and could not find anything under the bonnect and really could not help, so suggested rebooking for a recovery back to Colwyn Bay (and promptly said I would have to find my own means of getting home in about -2oC temperatures) !! The car was to my embarrasment popped on a vehicle transporter on Thursday efternoon, oh did I get loads of stick working for a company with a couple of hundred sales people which most know me.

Anyway, the problem was the PCM (Powertrain Controller Module) had died and not an immobiliser problem, just wondering if anyone has heard of anything similar ?? I am proper cheesed off which driving an Astra about for the past 6 days, but at least I will get my pride and joy back in the next couple of days.

Any thoughts ??

Thanks
Steven

Hi Bundaberg,

Yes, that did help a little - shame, I don't know what happened to it but hope it does not happen again.

I got the car back today, and after quick inspection and drive home - I give Slater's a 10/10 score, very good job (they sorted the rattle on the passenger seat (so far) by replacing the seat rails. Only negative thing is the not informing the customer of ETA or what the problem was until they get chased about it (I will let them off though).

Cheers
Steven
