Ive recently had a scare driving back from France. Nice straight stretch of the M6, just outside of Warrington had been driving for a good few hours and decided to put my foot down a bit to get us home. Looked ahead and seen a bobby car parked up in a layby bout 200 mtres ahead. It was at this point I realised that I was doing 115... Managed to slow down to about 90 when I passed them, however one bobby was def making his way back to the car when I went by, another was in the driving seat. Im under the impression that if they had of clocked me doing such speed I would of been chased and nicked there and then, so as they could have me breathalised etc. Needless to say if I get away with this one I will thank the god of the road and buy something that doesnt do more then 70! Not knowing much about the new weaponary they have I'm not sure of my chances of recieving a NIP in the next few days, what do you all think?

When ever I see them in police lay-bys on motorways it's usually the driver who's using the speed gun, resting on his arm with the window down.

I reckon in your case he stopped so his mate could have a pee.

Alot of the Highways Agency vehicles have also started parking in those lay-bys too, waiting for something to do.

You'll be fine Jon, don't worry about it. They would have had you there and then. And stop the 'I'll do 70mph from now on' rubbish!
