Having just watched 28 days later and being aware of the theme related photography website I was curious if anyone has good photos of abandoned sites or places?
I know of a couple that I plan to get to soon (one military, could lead to trouble) and I already have a few shots by someone else.
I will post up existing ones on Monday (not home till then) and I plan to go a trip on Monday to take some of my own.
Anyone else got some to share? or can anyone else get some?

You could try here for inspiration, one of the best sites although the photo's aren't too big.

On a similar theme there was a site about disused Underground stations, but I didn't keep the URL, sorry.

That derelict London site looks brilliant. Some of those places look pretty difficult to access though.

An hour in your library's local history section should tell you where the disused railways and canals are in your area. Shouldn't be too difficult to find remnants of the old platforms, equipment, maybe some buildings, knackered locks or dredgers, disused tunnels or bridges.

Blimey, that's one helluva bloke! When it says in the text to the old mine that there was a body in the showers, I was expecting to see a dog or something!

Stunning images though.

Photo Wheel No 1. Le Hasard, Coal Mine of Cheratte, just above 9 o'clock. Page 2.

Bloody eerie place.

I don't know if it's just me, but I find this stuff absolutely dead fascinating. Things like really nice old houses just boarded up and empty ?? Why doesn't someone go and live in them!?

This place is particularly intriguing:

www.derelictlondon.com/id14.htm (Tower house, whitechapel).

There are some great sites out there with stuff and interesting photography of it too.

Also, I don't think this building is bad at all!:

I could see how it's really ugly maybe 5 years ago, but now it looks quite retro-cool, like a new Mustang! I'd live there.

Some good stuff on these sites.
Anyone else think the body shots are a bit suss? I can't help but think the 1st shot is of a body lying flat out, were the 2nd is sitting up but looks closer to the edge of the shower cubicle.

OK anyone got any of their own?

UKBob, why didn't you manage to fire off a shot before hitting the water?

I thought about that a bit too. I don't think they're the same person. Perhaps it's staged, but the story he tells is strong enough without it. Perhaps it's being used as a doss for junkies or tramps?

Stone,

That is just the sort of thing I was looking for.
