its a tvr car club track day they are for all comers. they split the entrants into 3 groups , novices, intermediates and advanced. Out of 100 cars there are usually 15 or 20 who have never been to a track before so they usually put them in a group on thier own and give an extra briefing. They also have 3 or 4 instructors on hand free of charge that you can use during the day to teach you the lines etc.
The day really is great, very relaxed and is non competitive. ie anyone caught taking lap times, overtaking in a braking zone or overtaking on a corner is kicked off the track for the day with no refund. I have never seen or heard of a problem on a tvrcc track day involving more than 1 car. It really is as safe as it gets cos almost all the cars are tivs and the owners love the cars and hence have a lot of respect.

Might see you there..are the sessions by driver or car? I think SGirl would prefer the novice class, I might be better off (as it were) in the one up from that..

There are usually 4 or 5 sessions with 3 groups of 20 or 30 cars in each session. Each session is approx 15 to 20 mins which is more than enough for both the car and driver. So roughly speaking you get 20 mins on track, a 40 minute break, 20 mins on track , a 40 minute break etc throughout the day with an hours break for lunch.
Some people enter the car twice and enter 2 sessions per hour but this is very hard on the car as it hardly gets a chance to cool down properly. You are better off alternating the sessions between 2 people. i think the entry fee is £145 and the 2nd driver is £5

Oh, so this is why I got red flagged twice and black flagged once at Brands on my last trackday. Doh, there was me thinking, I'm in a race car, its a racetrack, I wanna race.
To me the braking zones are one of the things that make racing fun. I'm so not the sort of mentality you want at a trackday.
