Try and find out about your local Motor Club, see if they organise sprints as some can be held on just a large expanse of tarmac, there was a sprint about 3 miles from me in a place which I never knew existed.
Sprints are great, don't go unless your looking to race in the future (not that that's bad), I made that mistake and now I'm making a westfield worthy to race
it's brilliant fun.
Edited to add: There's Prescott in Gloucestershire, Postcode is GL52 9RD if you want to look.
Shelsley Walsh is in Hereford/Worcester - WR6 6RP
Gurston Down is in Wiltshire - DT11 8DH
There aren't many I can find in my Circuit Guide where your looking but they are the closest but still a bit of a drive.

We can have a chat about it - there are several venues in Essex that we go to regularly, and we're sprinting most weekends during the summer.
