I know this is a bit dull of a thread, but does anyone know what sort of rates the OPCs are offering on their financing packages? I've heard something like 11% but that seems just too high!

Sounds a bit better. Need to be spot on though as I'm putting together a budget. May give them a call.
Merc are something like 11.9% !

Nice car by the way. and you're getting the AMV8? Sorry to hear they've delayed it. How long have you had to wait already?

Well good luck with the Aston. Hope it turns up before the summer.
Strangely I've not seen a single one and I live near Canary Wharf and all those bankers aho supposedly have ordered so many that the list is as long as it is...

Congratulations, what spec are you going for?

A cayman is the target. Just set up my own firm though and in my game you can't tell how much you're going to make month by month.. In a good year I would have looked at the AMV8 too and did for a while (look that is) at my last firm but thought I could use the money to do something I really wanted to.

3% over base.
Base currently at 5%

Other features you should know about their product are
- no "interest up front" b*llox (no "rule of 79" or what ever it was)
- interest calculated daily
- ability to dump in a load of cash to reduce the amount borrowed
- early redemption penalty is 60 days interest

Its quite a good product as if you're able to get most of the cash now and the remainder in June... it allows you to take the car now and not be f**ked over by borrowing for a short while.

Is worth talking to their finance bod. The bit that attracted me is not the amount of payments, but not being penalised for clearing the loan early.

So what you're saying is, Pay a large deposit, pay off as much as possible when you have it. easing the pain of the large monthlies...
What though is "interest up front?"

Oh and I thought base rate was 4.5 at the moment. certainly was at the last BOE meeting. Still its not bad rate at 8%

Beware the up-front fees for the dealer (can be a HUGE amount).

Look at the APR - the flat rate ignores all the up-front fees.

What is your game mikey?

The car is black/black with red callipers, shame about those because i think they belong on porsches not any other car.

Head hunter. for my sins.

Agree with caliper thoughts. Are the red ones standard or did the other guy spec them?

the other guy specced them, shame almost perfect but no. I just spoke to aston about finance and im looking at 3.75 over base rate but i think i may call porsche and see what they come up with.

Depending on how large your "large deposit" is, I would steer away from Porsche finance. You may aswell just get an unsecured personal loan. You can get 5.5%APR these days, (with the same 2month interest redemption penalty). In fact if you're only after say £15k, you can get 4.75%APR from ZOPA!

Sorry Bund if I'm being dumb here are you saying that you can get Porsche to finance your Aston or are you talking about off loading the 997?
If the former I had no idea they did that sort of thing. If the car financing specialists do this then I would try GMAC, bigger lenders overall so may be able to offer a better rate on the sort of package I reckon you'd be looking at.

Yer im pretty sure porsche may lend on any car i know at bmw the woman said to me to ring her whenever i want a quote, i think they all use brokers afterall.

Then again Porsche may not use brokers but i still think they will lend on any high end car.

Ewan,
thanks for that. It had occured to me but in truth the most important factor is paying the monthly bills rather than the overall costs..
Bank loans get tricky to keep this down on loans over 15k whereas some financing schemes can off set the monthly ougoings for large lump sums which is a peculiarity of my situation that I would prefer.

It should say on the Porsche web site if they use brokers or not. somewhere as a footnote on the finance pages (i think they have to)
I don't know who Lotus are using at the moment but that headline rate they're offering on Elises is comically low.

If not I've got a fiver I can lend you.
