quick tech question
i'm just overhauling the rear brakes on the v8
does the caliper piston squash back in or screw in - if so which way

Screw, clockwise, the Ford caliper wind-back tool makes this very easy.

wind back tool - nope haven't got the right one
out with the tig and some scrap metal to make something up

Shame you're so far away as I have one you could borrow.

IIRC Halfords are selling them for about £10ish (where I bought mine from)

thanks for the offer
as luck would have it my next door neighbour is a mechanic and he had one so i didn't even have to weld anything up
