Whilst making my way along the A5 back towards home after Xmas the car started to loose power, first acting like it had a rev limiter moving lower and lower down the revs range, then mis-firing (also noted lower temp gauge readings and radio starting to play up. the first aa appointed garage sent a man who though doubt very capable with day to day stuff (maybe), did not inspire confidence with his diag techniques. so I waited close to Corwen for a relay wagon to pick up the car and a patrol to take me to get my hire car. All this whilst all the cars I have overtaken cruise past my stranded car . The patrol man who turned up asked if he could have a quick look at the fault before taking me to my hire car. With a little persistance he traced the fault to the pos connection on the block below the starter and explpained all his diag process through out the repair, he also mentioned that he used to own a T reg 4.5 till someone stole it from outside a hotel he was staying in! So to summarise, there are some good guys working for the AA, especially compares with my experiences when I used to be a regular user about 15 years ago
