I dont think Button is going to become world champ this year. I hope he'll win his 1st race and i'll definately be rooting for him to do well.

He's got a team mate this year who's a known quantity on pace as Barrichello could match Schumacher Snr and even beat him on occasion on lap times, so far Button has had the upper hand on pace over Barrichello during Winter testing and today in practice. Says quite a lot really.

Do you think he will see out the season with BMW?

yeah, probably. i think his contract is just to big to dispute.
i still think he has what it takes to win races, the raw talent is there, its just the aplpication that is frustrating....
you dont win the CART championship by being a bad driver!
If he really is lacking the motivation though, i hope this year is his last and he goes to ALMS or something as it would be awful watching him from the back of the grid.

Excellent point, I have always liked Button both for his youthfull personality and his agressive driving style. I am sure he will make some good steps forward this year including winning his first GP.

would be nice to see jenson win, but in a fight, i reckon he doesn't have the balls to take it on.

He wasn't shy to overtake last year, one of the few you could count on to actually try. I think he might just be a bit careful until he gets his first win, then he'll show his class but he has to get that monkey off his back.

Agreed, lets hope he can get over the initial hurdle of the race win and then set his sights on a title. I will be watching and waiting for that first win!

I was talking to my house mate about this, I was trying to think which track his car is likely to be strongest at and head out to watch (hopefully) his first win... All a big gamble but wouldnt it be a buzz!!!

But Button does have the benefit of several years' experience of both the team and the car. Don't write off Rubens - he'll be well fired up to prove a point this season. The good thing is that both drivers have a similar style and as such the car develoment will move in the right direction. Contrast that with Villeneuve, whose car setup is unique....

Having made some money from Renault last year and alonso, I was thinking of backing button and honda, but the odds are cr4p! So i guess the bookies obviously think he has a good chance.

So I will just be rooting for him from my chair instead of my wallet.

On the making money from F1, I made about £500 on the USA GP last year (For a £14 bet)!!!
