Despite being in a privateer team (I know that is a point of contention), Loeb is still extremely competitive in this year's WRC. Two second place finishes and a rally win is a very solid start, and he doesn't seem to be fading.

Will Sebastian Loeb become the first privateer to become World Rally Champion since Ari Vatanen in 1981?

....Or will Marcus Gronholm flatten him?

I think he'll do it, kronos seem to be a very good privateer outfit and Gronholm makes too many mistakes these days. I really hope his nickname is "ear"

Well, he can certainly win. However I would be cautious in calling it a Privateer team. Its still mainly funded by Citroen and most of the old citroen team are in the Kronos team. Still it would be good to see them win. But I'm still cheering for Gronholm and Ford.

i couldn't give a monkeys about whether Loeb wins the championship or not, what i am concerned about is supporting British drivers such as Wilson, Mchale, Meeke and Wilks, and hoping that one of them makes it to a works team imminently, in order to safegurad the future of the sport in the UK, That way Richards can the championship up as much as he likes but some British interest will see us through with TV etc.
