Gear Crunch

Hi

Quick question, I bought my 500 early this year its got the serp box. Since I bought it there as been a small gear crunch going from 4th - 5th, whatever I do I don't seem to be able to avoid it unless doing less the 40MPH. I don't get it between any other gears. Is this normal on 500's? or does it suggest a problem with the clutch?
I was just interested in peoples thoughts or if all cars do the same thing?

Hi

Oops did mean serp Engine, it was the T5 part I could not remember!

I hope its not a box out job. If it is, is it something I should do sooner rather than later? its no causing me to much of a problem right now.

It sounds like a worn syncro ring on 5th gear, if so then its gearbox out and strip / fit new item.

just out on interest... after repairing the box...is there a synthetic oil for the T5.. bible says use ATF.. what oil is commonly used?..

Thanks.. Which one.. there's a Synthetic ATF or Synthetic D4 ATF?.. these guys have more ATF in their range than I've ever seen!!!
