I collected my new 996TT on Friday evening and have not stopped smiling since. The car is so composed on the road and the power delivery and torque are sensational. There is no drama just constant surge that borders on the relentless. The car seems very well built and the full carbon kitted interior is a very nice place to be.

Having had several slightly modified Evos I was very surprised at just how much quicker the Porsche seems. The power delivery is slightly smoother but it still surprised me to feel the tail stepping out on a dry road when applying full throttle in second gear. The car does have the X50 kit which could explain the huge torque available.

The car is everything I hoped it would be with the added bonus of having 2 small rear seats for the kids. All I need know is a good sports exhaust and it will be the perfect car.

Anyone have any views on aftermarket exhaust systems?

David.

Nice one KTR.

IMO the only thing missing from the 996TT is a really good exhaust sound. And if you are into modding then £2k buys you a very reliable 500bhp (& more importantly around 500lbs torque) with a simple chip change.

Whilst a sports exhaust will sound wonderful remember that it may make your car too noisy for many tracks here in the UK.

If you will not be tracking the car at any stage this clearly doesn't affect you...
