When I print photos on my photo printer the pictures come out much darker than the original image.
I cant understand why.
Ive tried cleaning the heads etc but it makes no difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Some q's-

Are you printing straight from camera without any changes?
How do you know the original images are right - where are you viewing them?
What printer are you using?

Get your screen calibrated.
It made a shocking difference to the colours and shadow detail displayed on my laptop screen and it's now much much closer to the printed image.

I borrowed a Spyder2. Top piece of kit.

That's why a decent calibrates screen (such as the ones on my macs) looks a little darker than a typical non-calibrated one. Makes a world of difference.

Thanks gents. Solved it in the end. I was printing via windows printing wizard which for some reason darkened everything!!
Installing the specific software did the trick !
