Hi Chaps

Does the site do what you want ?
What other areas would you like to see on it?
Is the site easy to use ?
Any other suggestions?

Also would welcome comments on www.caterhamracing.com

Thanks

I can comment on caterhamracing. Keep it up to date would have helped. I did the academy last year. The race reports didnt go up, the championship tables were out of date. I had friends that tried to follow progress, but all found it useless to follow the championships. Certainly those of us in it used personal sites to track progress. I wouldnt take a lot for caterham to create a decent community and point place to put all the race info.

As it is, others have done it elsewhere now. Format, look and feel - all fine.

Can't defend that one - we created caterhamracing.com (And strictly speaking it's our website)So Caterham don't pay anything towards it - so sometimes it doesn't get updated when it should.

Did you really? I always thought it was on official one! Well more credit to you then. I was trying to be constructive though. I am sure if you do it yourself, it must be nearly impossible to keep up to date. What was your motivation for setting it up in the first place?

Well it's official but we own it and do it for free !

We did it because Caterham needed a motorsport site and didn't have the budget and I thought it would be good PR for us to do it - so we created it off the back of the main caterham website - but the updating was always a pain. Hopefully this year - we'll persuade the coordinators to update via a new CMS that we'll build for it - then the site becomes self managing

Sounds like a good plan. I am suprised caterham couldnt find budget, but there you go. I am sure I dont understand all the ins and outs.

Good luck with it. There is a great opportunity there to build the community. Missed for me now I guess.

as someone who has bought a caterham very recently, i used the caterham.co.uk site frequently.

it loaded quickly, was eassy to navigate, and was well structured and layed out. clear, not messy, very good in my opinion.

you'd never know it was done on a budget, but then that's probably a reflection on the mugs out there who do spend thousands getting their sites all tarted up.

(by the way i work in IT and I know how much companies are fleeced for website design and development - 90% of what is ever created can all be done on Frontpage in my opinion!)

As a dreamer... i frequent the site alot... and i'll agree with the above

about the only thing i could said would be nice is a link in the side bar menu to the tuning guide they have here when you go to the Aftersales section, so you can quickly flick between the guide and the parts section.

but i think thats just maybe nit picking on an otherwise well laid out site.
