Changed pads today

Had them sitting on the shelf for a couple of weeks and finally got round to fitting them.
Not much life left in the original AP's, 1144's now bedded in as per instructions and working fine but squealing quite a bit. I'll see if they settle down but if not will stick them in with some silicone.
Interstingly the AP's have been generally quiet and I wonder if this is because they have a crosshatched rubber backing.
Anyway the question ... the old front pads have worn at a different rate, rights about 2-3mm more wear than lefts. I've not noticed the car pulling under braking but have recently experienced brake judder. Checked the disk temp after bedding in the new pads and it's equal left to right. So what causes the uneven pad wear?

I have 1144s in my rear calipers.... I've done everything I can think of to stop them squealing.
Chamfered the leading edge at 45 degrees. Stuck anti-squeal shims to the backs. Applied copper grease to the backs and the piston faces.
Nothing has worked..... still squeal like a bus.
And i have a spare set!!
I've learnt to live with it, don't bother me any more.

I always found the rears squeel more than the fronts.
Yep sounds like rears doing most of the squealing for me too, might drop the old AP's in the rear to see.
Or as you say Bud learn to live with it.
Do either of you chaps have any suggestions re: uneven pad wear I think it's odd that I have not noticed any symtoms but one side is doing more work than t'other.
ED300 did I read somewhere you were thinking of selling?

Friction material. There is a small gap between the two sides of the pad. I found my squeal got worse when this got blocked with brake dust/friction material. I therefore tried conversely to widen it using a mill. (P.S. don't do this without breathing apparatus).
Each time I widened it the squeal became less and less. I assume I was affecting the resonancy of the pad against the disc. Such that it finally disappeared, and has not returned since, neither does the gap allow buildup of rubbish anymore (I think its too wide now) so when I check it the gap is still clear.
I asuume the gap filling is why you drive away from the service station with no sqeal and it then starts to come on after a couple of hundred miles?

The only way I (the indy) could get rid of the squeal on mine, after spending money on getting them cut, discs sanded etc was for me to fork out for some new rear discs. This was due to the discs having tiny imperfections in them that the old pads had grown with. Got some cross drilled ones put on the back that allowed the air to escape so no chance of squeal. I couldn't drive the car with the squeal as it ruined it for me and found I was driving round trying to never use the brakes, that restricts the driving pleasure some what 
If I had just bought the discs in the first place would have not worked out that much more that getting them to try and fix the old ones, plus you aren't weakening the components.

Sorry, my rear pads are getting quite low. That's why I bought another set. I'm terrible for storing things. I like to have them for when I need them. I like to be prepared.
I have a new starter motor sitting in a box in the garage,
and No!, I wont sell that either,

Are you saying Cerb rears are in low supply?
You know the rears are Rover Mini front pads dont you?
