Wet road + crap driver + dry stone wall = no front on my chimaera!!!!!!

The chassis doesnt seem to have been affected so can it be fixed?

If so are there any good specialists who can do it?

Main thing is your ok,assuming your insurance company won't write it off,getting a new front graft is no biggie,however stress fracture's going further back will show up in the next couple of weeks/months.
TVR body shop(no relation to TVR) seem to be the most reccomended TVR repairer's.

Through insurance, a front or rear end is 7-8k so will eaisly write off a car... if there is no chassis damage it can be fixed for a lot less if you do the donkey work.. there are a couple of places who advertise in sprint that do panels

fiberon do a chim nose and i think tet do as well...

yep I know of about 1/2 dozen chim/griffs that have had front and or rear wipe outs and thats about the insurance cost of a repair.... Chassis33's old man ttted the rear end on his ( rear corner, wheel, wishbone) and that was written of ( 8.5k car) Thankfully that car should be on the race track in April


The majority of the cost if your doing it through insurance is the labour plus tvr probably want about 2k for the panel so 2k panel 2k paint 2-3k labour and odds and ends...

I knackered the front end of my Chim 500 not so long ago and the insurance company wrote off the car as the garage wanted about 13k to repair the front and respray. I think to make it work financially you need to be up for doing most of the repair yourself rather than relying upon a garage at all.

This sounds really callous, but probably the best way out of this is to get the car written off, buy back the salvage rights (usually about 25% of the settlement value), break the car yourself and buy a replacement.

I know nothing about the make model spec etc of the car, but say the car is worth 10k...that's £2500 to buy back...OEM 5 spoke alloys sell for around £500 a set, the engine is probably worth £1k, the seats £250, the rear shell £1k, Diff & 'Box £250 each etc
At the moment, it's a buyers market, you'll be able to get an equal replacement and some beer tokens or a higher spec/newer car.

This all assumes you have the luxury to take some time over sorting things out.
