How do I turn off the seat belt warning beep?

Is it possible to turn off the warning alarm beep for the seatbelts? I have a six-point harness in my GT3, but if I drive whilst using that, the 3-point seat belt alarm keeps on going all the time. Is there a way of disarming this other than doing up the 3-point seat belt?

OPC can turn it off, but the light still shows on the dash.

Have you tried unplugging it from the connector under the seat??? Im not sure if that is the only thing that has been done but the thing is unplugged, I have no beeps or warning lights.

Another idea is to get a spare seat belt clip and stick it in when you do a trackday. Seat belt suppliers/breakers must have an odd one for a few pennies....

If it bugs you that much, then you can have it "disarmed" at OPC.

Or, just run the belt round the back of the seat and do it up - hey presto!

Some guy on rennlist said that running it around the back causes some strange wear. Dunno if thats cobblers

I was going to get OPC to disarm, but not sure if that still leaves the light on on the dash.

What do the various options do to the airbag?

Exactly... I don't want the airbag to go off if I'm harnessed and stack it...

Can't get an answer on rennlist either, and I know my OPC will be clueless.

Why don't you just get hold of a seat belt buckle and leave it permanently inserted. That will turn off the light on the dash and stop the beeping leaving the standard seatbelt unused.

You can just thread the belt around the back to do that. Airbag will be active though, so risk of burns etc to your hands when you won't be going near the thing with your body.

Thanks for all these comments. I presume if an OPC disarms the beep, they don't disarm the airbag. I'd rather run the risk of airbag burns etc than not have an airbag when I'm only using the standard 3 point harness!
I saw a slow motion video of a driver crashing a car to deliberately activate the airbag, whilst wearing a 6 point harness and it didn't look too bad. (5th Gear on TV).
The driver's body just stayed put (as it should) and the airbag activated and didn't reach him

I don't want the airbag disarmed when the 3 point is in, only when it is not...

I had Parr disbale mine, and the light doesn't come on either.

They installed a resister of some kind under the drivers seat.

May be worth speaking to them.
