How much is a 52 plate 996TT worth?

Im considering buying a Black on Black Tiptronic 996TT on a 52 plate. Its a private sale. The car does not have sat nav. The milage is 20k. From what i can see its a nice car but i dont know what i can get away with paying for it in the current climate. Have 996TT's taken the bulk of the hit re the 997 TT? I know there are lots of tiptronics around too.
What are dealers paying for these on trade in?

a deal will give you 47k I reakon, a friend got 48k offered for his which was similar. Mine is an 01 with 47k on it and I was offered 46k so aim for more than that. All depends if there is more margin in the other car. In glasses guide the 996tt 01 and 02 cars have recently gone back up in value by £250 per month or more
Tuff call coz there arent that many 04 cars for sale privately..a wild guess at 70k IMO,the late cars are now suffering from the 997tt arrival whereas the older cars are trading on condition and mileage more.It hard to see a 996tt getting much below 40k ever, however new cars will suffer 'new car 'depreciation still.Also theres not a whole lot of difference between a 2000 model tt and an 04tt to justify 30-35k difference in prices.

That sounds an awful lot for a dealer to bid as an outright purchase on a 47k mls `01 turbo. If you were bid that you should have yanked the poor man`s arm off at the shoulder. We`ve just put the best example I`ve ever seen in my life on the site for £48k (as dealers).

As a trade in recently I was offered £52.5k for my 02 TT, 24k miles.
That was against a car that I think the dealership was keen to move on (a 360 modena)
Would have thought I could have screwed another couple k too had I really wanted the car.

PS : I was just offered an 04 996Turbo S, 4k miles, for £70k through my car dealer brother.

Re: the milage being high, I`m not sure. It certainly hasn`t spent it`s life runing from traffic light to traffic light in Kensington and it is 5 years old. I think the wise money buys with price in the forefront of their mind rather than the number on the speedo, that`s what`s going to sell the car once the next owner has had their fuss. I think a £5k saving for 20k miles on the speedo, (£53k 28k mls v £48k 48k mls) makes those very expensive miles for someone to drive. Certainly there won`t be a £5k difference between a 45k mls car and a 65k mls car in a couple of years !
But what do I know !

Interesting Henry, the price I was offered did seem good but how much do you think I could sell my 996 TT with 48k on it privately? like you said I will keep it anyway as I will probably put 70k miles or so on it as it should balance out more in 2 years. At least that's the plan. Either way I love it so I am not too bothered but just curious.

Absolutely positive, because if it had been running round London it wouldn`t have done 48k miles, and more importantly it wouldn`t look as good as it does with 48k miles. It would have done more work. That and the fact that I know where the chap lives and works !
We don`t need to know someone`s inside leg measurement to appraise their car, we take the rather unusual step in this day & age of looking at the car it`s self, something you can do with a couple of decades of knowledge & experience

It came in as a part exchange against a new Jag XK (my bro is sales manager at Jaguar)
They gave him £70k for it, he offered it to me for the same. I turned it down & one of his friends snapped it up.
It was bassalt / black leather, manual. Chap has loads of exotica & hardly drove it and apparantly didn't even blink when he was offered £70k for it !
