Does anyone know an answer to this?
When the headlights are off and lowered on a 924 or 944, are the foglights supposed to flash when you operate the headlight flasher?
If not, has anyone carried out a mod to make the foglights flash instead?
It would be really useful if this could be done.

Thanks

The driving lights (the ones combined with the sidelights) should flash when the headlights are down. They also flash when the headlights are up and come on with main beam.

Are you thinking of the S2 front?
Sorry, I should have mentioned its a Lux not an S2, so I think the sidelight units are just fitted with one bulb?

On the earlier cars there are switchable driving lights in the side light unit.
This must be switched on,switch in the centre console, for them to flash.
On the S2 they are on when ever the main beam is on so they are always
available for flashing!

Sorry guys, just looked closer at the sidelight unit and there is a second bulb.
Maybe there is a relay blown. I'll start looking into it.

This is where I get confused. I have an 87 Lux fitted with an S2 front.
No switch in the centre console for driving lights & no headlight flash
at all when the lights are down, although I hear a relay click each time.
Were the driving lights an option? Would the wiring be there on all cars?
There is a 3 way socket under the bumper but 2 pins of this are live all the time
the lights are on, one is obviously sidelights, but do the driving lamps
plug to here?

Not too sure about the S2, but on the oval dash model Lux the driving lights should definitely flash. These are the lamps that are in the bumper and not the spoiler and were fitted to all oval dash Lux models. If it is an early dash model, things may be different?
