Chimaera delivered in August, just fitted new wiper blades as old ones didn't touch the screen in drivers line of vision. New blades just as bad, can you help or offer any advice. (relying on rain clear on screen, but not effective at slow speeds)

Excluding a deformed screen this sounds more like a problem with (1) the orientation of the wiper motor spindle (2) the location of the wiper arm on this or (3) the shape of the wiper arm. Could the arm be bent?

the screen seems OK. The wiper and wiper arm don't touch each other. just the blade not matching the curve of the screen. OK if I apply pressure to assist spring in the arm.

I had a similar problem, I found that the angle of the blade relative to the screen was a bit odd. I twisted the arm a bit and it is now much improved... BUT, dare I say it, "they all do that sir"...

Then I guess someone must have bent mine already, since it works perfectly

Oooerrr, careful! We'll be starting a story that Chimaera owners are all a bit bent! ;-)

Hi all,
I had this problem with my 97 Chimaera. Bought in August 2002 and had to fit new blades as they were trashed. Fitted a Bosch pair and had similar problem - large areas unwiped in centre and at edges of the screen. When at the Motorshow, I noticed that the display Chimaera had wiper arms with a curve in them, to match that of the screen. The guys from TVR said that they could be obtained from TVR dealers but weren't sure of where else.
Another important aspect seems to be the number of floating heads that there are off the main arm - more specialist blades can have 6-8, whereas the standard ones have 2 or 4.
