What is the max boost I should be seeing on a standard 996 GT2? Had my first trackday yesterday and I was only seeing a max of 0.8. I vaguely recall reading that these should go up to 1.1?

Mine now boosts to 1.2bar, but virtually the whole of the engine is changed which is what gives the extra power (flowed heads, cams, bigger turbos, exhaust, headers etc)......

Read somewhere that the 996TT / GT2 Engine management is intelligent enough to deliver as much boost as is necessary to give the quoted maximum BHP. therefore, on a cold day (denser air etc...), you may only need 0.8 BAR to deliver your full BHP. Ona much warmer day, you may see the full 0.9.

Don't know whether this is true or not ???

That's the case on a number of Turbo models. I know it is true forthe 993 turbo

Buster - thoroughly enjoyed my first track outing. There really isn't anything I would change about the car (well actually I would have preferred black but couldn't find one). I'm not sure how often I will track the car though, I reckon Monday cost me the best part of a grand in tyres, fuel etc. Averaged 6mpg on track Immense fun, but if I want to do regular track days in cars, then I think a Caterham might be a worthwhile and more economical purchase.

Cheers
