A question for BIB:

On this thread in Gerneral Gassing there is a clip of some tt in a Sierra Cosworth doing donuts in the middle of the road outside the Ace Cafe. His index is clearly visible at the start, and the incident is dated 10 days ago. Is there enough evidence to take it further, or is it all too unsubstantiated? Could it be linked with police CCTV from the area to prosecute this fkwit?

Probably not the smartest thing to do, but plenty do it outside the Ace Cafe - Its part of the fun - I think there is a slight police tolerance down there as its "Fairly" contained...

Part of the problem is that if you move them on they could go to a more residential area - here the only people that have a problem with it are the PO lorries and buses that tend to get held up most nights.

I'm not condoning it, but it happens, its part of the Ace Cafe Culture, you should go along on the next Middlesex TVRCC night and see what some of the Bikers get up too...

I didn't realise it was such a common occurance at the Ace Cafe, or that it was tolerated. I can understand the fun, and have had a go in my old Griff, but I'd never consider it anywhere where there were close bystanders, let alone a mini-roundabout!

I don't know if you have been to the Ace, but its more like a Service road. The only cars there at that time of night are generally there for the show-boating. Personally, I don't see the harm unless there are people standing around at the side of the road who could get wiped out.

Quite often when I go up there, plod are in attendance enjoying matters. I have seen one or two people receiving a quiet word.

Plod are petrolheads too.

Suffice to say, I've also seen some of those quiet words being backed up with pieces of paper.

Pretty much daily - The road itself is usually turned into a drag strip on the odd occasion as well

Hmmm, OK, a service road. I think what disturbed me most was the back end shaving pasted the camera. One minor error by the driver etc... I'm certainly up for having a laugh, but it seemed quite iffy to me.

Lets not mince words here, its not a service road, it is a main thoroughfare to quiet a large area - so it is quite foolish thing to do, as BIB have said on here, if anyone is seem to be getting out of hand they will go and have a word - Dispensing assorted paperwork where appropriate.

As I've said on another thread, Ace cafe burnouts/donuts are part of the attraction, it is a public road and it is monitored by both Ace marshalls and police, BUT i would add that it's the idiot pedestrians standing too near by their OWN CHOICE that are the problem, There are no pedestrians there at night except for the Ace, there is very little passing traffic. However, the drivers should excercise a little discretion how near people and other cars are before shredding the tyres.

Ok. Maybe service road was a bit misleading. Having never turned left at the roundabout, I didn't realise it led elsewhere. Never the less, I'm sure the locals are well aware of the displays.

Best Run Night is the Rods as far as I can see. Fantastic and well Marshaled - they stop the traffic for the Street Rod Burnout - very save, only stopped for say 30 sec's at time hundreds of people round cars in summer.

Most people know what they are doing round there - though you do get a few knobs. And of cos plod will intervene if stupidity rains.

They are pretty chilled - and just let you get on with it with in reason all locals and ACE and Evenet attendeed know the score.

Sadly you always get the piss takers who try to show off too much and TRY to ruin it for the rest.

Its amazing though, when the wheel does come off, its surprising how many true petrolheads are quick to spill the beans.

Good on em.

(The Ace is only a mile from our Garage and isnice for a bacon sarnie in the mornin)

That is very true!!

A year ago some twot on a bike was showing off on a Sunday afternoon and lost control of his Gixer and crashed into 2 little girls who were watching the 'display' with their Dad. Sadly, one little girl cannot see too well now!

Its inevitable that theres always one who pushes the boundary tooooooo far ni front of an audience and forgets that hes still on a public road.
