Daggerfall was the one before Morrowind which was the last one... There's also another thread on this, found it about 3 pages down though so it's a bit buried:

I'm looking forward to it too!
Looks to be one of the most imersive games on the horizon. I enjoyed Morrowind, but felt it was not quite there as being a fully imersive - although the tremendous free ranging environments were like nothing available at the time (at least to my limited knowledge).
With a greatly enhanced look (yum yum!), and hopefully a slightly more sophistcated combat system & more baddies should be a hoot! Is 24 March still the UK release date.

PC version for me. My computer chair is sufficiently uncomfortable to make sure I get up and move around/interact with the scenery once in a while, otherwise it would take surgery to remove me
Well I have pre-ordered the gold edition, and my system can run FEAR ok, so should be powerful enough to ensure Oblivion is very pretty.

How likely is it that the local shops will sell out on launch day?
Yup, going to add this to my 360 collection as well.

They're very likely to have stock. Only reason I pre-order is so I get my gaming fix a day early, ordering from gameplay they always send out the games on the wednesday so you end up getting it a day before it's available in the shops, they're also usually at least a fiver cheaper than highstreet shops, makes all the difference when you're a pauper like myself.

When is the first review likely to come out for oblivion?
There's one in one of the latest PC games mags (either PC Zone or PC Gamer, I have the mag, but it's at home), and it gets well over 90%, they are really raving about it! I can't wait 'till Friday!!
(My wife quite fancies this 'castle sim', in PC World, called Stronghold 2, is it worth getting??)

Couple of days on the websites probably, PC gamer UK already have done their review and it got 93%. There are further hands-on previews on IGN and Gamespot, Gamespot are also doing a 12 hour level webcast for their subscribers showing exactly what happens to them for the first 12 hours of gameplay.

12 hour webcast... not live, surely? And dont tell me you'll be watching it
gamespot have some new videos too, which look nice

Bob, he did indeed play oblivion for 12 hours solid whilst broadcasting it all live. They've put up some highlights of it, worth a look but it contains a few minor spoilers to the story, I will take a look at it later as my boss is eyeing me suspiciously as i'm sat here with my headphones on:

He only played for 9 hours though, as the fire alarm went off when a gate to oblivion opened right inside the gamespot building itself, so he stopped the review with an apology
