MV880X bargain?

[Jubal]

Knowing I want a camera for this summer's trackdays Mrs J picked me up a Canon MV880x at Costco today as a surprise. However, it seems this UK version is hobbled by having no AV or DV in. Which I want. The same camera is sold in Japan as the MV880xi and in the US as the ZR400 both of which sport the features I need.

Before I return this, does anyone know if there's a firmware upgrade to enable the missing features? TVM

Err, I wasn't really expecting canon to offer it! But thanks anyway.
